Here are four flowers at different stages or ages of growth, entwined together in this piece like a family - two mentors, a youth and a budding flower. The painting was made when staying with two very generous friends and the edible flowers from the squash grown in their garden caught my attention. Since I was planning a mural for the exterior of the art studio I was then working from, I chose this as my subject and created several versions resulting in this one. A butterfly or bee would distract, I thought, and take center stage, so I kept it just the blossoms. The composition represents family, and family is what grew from our amazing stay. This painting titled Trustfall is a result of what happens when one surrenders, when one is open to receive help from others. Lean back and fall. Trust.
